Who’s This Space For?
For You
You're the one everyone counts on. You remember the birthdays, close the deals, answer the late-night calls, and somehow still make it to the gym. People admire how much you handle. Fewer ask what it costs you.
Anxiety in high-achieving Black women rarely looks like panic. More often it looks like rereading an email six times before sending it, or lying awake replaying a conversation from three days ago. Those habits make sense. Many Black women learned them in rooms that asked them to be twice as good and half as visible, and the habits worked for a while. When they start wearing you down, you deserve support that doesn't ask you to explain your culture first.
For Organizations
You serve Black women & girls every day as employees, students, patients, members, or clients. Many of them are among your strongest performers, and many are struggling quietly. They show up, deliver, and rarely ask for help, so burnout is easy to miss until someone pulls back, takes leave, or walks away.
We help companies, universities, schools, health systems, and community organizations recognize what that pressure looks like and respond with care that fits. A keynote for a heritage month event, a training series for your clinical team, or a referral partner for culturally responsive therapy all start from the same place: the people you serve.
We Offer Services…
For The Anxious Black Girl
Therapy & Support is where the deepest work happens. Licensed clinicians who understand Black women's lives offer a space to slow down, say what has been held in for too long, and build ways of coping that last. Our clients can work one-on-one or alongside others facing similar things.
For Companies &Organizations
Training & Partnerships extends the work to the professionals and institutions who support Black women & girls every day. Anxious Black Girls® helps counselors grow into skilled, culturally responsive clinicians and helps organizations build places where Black women can do well without burning out. Every engagement draws on years of clinical practice with this community.
For Building Your Community
Healing continues well outside a therapist's office. Community & Resources brings Anxious Black Girls® into everyday life through tools women can use on their own, conversations they can tune into, and spaces where real friendships form. It gives women who aren't ready for therapy a gentle place to start, and gives women who have finished therapy a way to keep growing.
Meet the Founder and
The Anxious Black Girl!
Deseray Wilson, LMHC
Anxious Black Girls® was founded by Deseray Wilson, LMHC, a licensed mental health counselor who has worked with Black women & girls for more than ten years. Her clients have included attorneys, nurses, new moms, adolescent youth, graduate students, women starting careers, and women rebuilding after divorce. Their stories differed, yet many of them shared one belief underneath: if I stop holding everything, it all falls apart.
Deseray started Anxious Black Girls® as a virtual therapy practice where women could walk into a session without first explaining their families, their culture, or why "just relax" never works. As the practice grew, so did the call to do more. Women wanted support before they were ready for weekly therapy and after they had finished. Employers and schools asked for help reaching the students they already served. Clinicians wanted training to do this work well.
Today Anxious Black Girls® answers each of those calls from the same clinical foundation. Every service, product, and training is grounded in licensed practice and built by people who know this community from the inside out.
